Working for Veterans

Kristen McConnell is a U.S. Army veteran and served in Desert Storm. McConnell received her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida, spending the last half of law school working in their Veterans Advocacy Clinic assisting veterans with their claims. She is a Department of Veterans Affairs accredited attorney and a current member of the Virginia State Bar, the National Organization of Veterans Advocates (NOVA), and the American Bar Association (ABA).

Additionally, she possesses a wide range of international experience, working at U.S. embassies located in Cairo, Egypt and Canberra, Australia as well as living in Berlin, Germany. These experiences contributed to her becoming the Associate Director of International Programs at Stetson University College of Law, setting up and managing their study abroad programs for over seven years. Her military service, civilian government experience, international programs problem-solving skills, and personal experience with her own VA disability claim provided the impetus for McConnell to advocate for her fellow veterans through veterans advocacy law. Additionally, she holds an M.Ed. and a B.A. in English from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas.

"I do the very best I know how -- the very best I can; and I mean to keep on doing so until the end."
